This is a really important skill to have. Because whether we like it or not, we're always selling.
Even though I don't *sell* anything, I'm still selling you this newsletter, my videos, myself in interviews, in promotions, proposals…
It's hard not to think of it negatively, but it doesn't have to be like that.
As someone on the receiving end of the "selling", I've come to appreciate it, as long as it's being done in an honest way.
If you're able to identify a pain point and sell me the solution to it, you're adding value to me, and you shouldn't feel bad about it.
It has everything to do with putting yourself in the other person’s shoes and understanding what they want, which is easier said than done.
This is not something that’s easy to be good at, I am certainly not, and I’ve never found a resource that was legitimately useful on it, most just focus on sleazy tactics.
The best salesmen I’ve met in life were also the best judges of character, with very high levels of empathy and charisma. And I can tell you for a fact they didn’t learn it in a classroom or a book.

rcmd - This is quickly becoming a favorite app. It essentially lets you launch different apps from your keyboard. And switch around them in a much faster than way than the traditional Alt-Tab.
Sharper - Solid flick by A24.
Concerns with 23andme (and others) - I’ve never done a DNA test, but this was eye-opening.
Under new management - I rely on a bunch of browser extensions. This alerts you when they change ownership, this is great as some companies have a horrible privacy track record, this should be a feature in every browser.
